Our Grant Programs
Community Sectors
The Trust engages across the grantmaking spectrum to support the needs of the wider community, and the Trust has identified the following community sectors for particular support:
- Aged Persons Care and Support
- Arts, Culture and Heritage
- Community Support
- Disabled Care and Support
- Education
- Employment and Vocational Training
- Environment
- Health and Medical Research
Mindful of ever-changing needs in society, the Trust shall review every three years, commencing in 2009/10, the community sectors for support over the forthcoming triennial period.
Grants Structure
The Trust has resolved to channel its grant funds into three streams:
Small Grants
The Small Grants program will distribute up to 45% of total available funds allocated for each grant round for projects/programs across the full range of community sectors (via an application process) to a maximum of $25,000 per grant.
Strands
The Strands program will distribute around 30% of total available funds allocated for each grant round to specific strands of work in relation to community needs and priorities. These will change over time, but overall they express our desire to make a significant contribution in particular areas of current community need (via an application process).
Partnerships
The Partnership program will distribute around 25% of total available funds allocated for each grant round towards the Trust working collaboratively with charitable organisations, corporations, peer philanthropic trusts, and/or any levels of government. Partnerships may involve specific community projects/programs and/or endeavours to build the capacity of the not-for-profit sector to deliver improved outcomes related to the Trust’s community sectors and/or strands (via an expression of interest process).
