2016 Hutchinson Indigenous Fellow Josh Muir shines at White Night

Josh Muir stars at White Night Melbourne

The work of contemporary artist Josh Muir, the 2016 recipient of HMSTrust’s Hutchinson Indigenous Fellowship at University of Melbourne, was one of the favourites at this year’s White Night Melbourne. His stunning artwork titled Still Here was projected onto the façade of the National Gallery of Victoria and told the story of Aboriginal people in Victoria before and since white settlement.

Based at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), the Fellowship was created to enable Indigenous artists to undertake significant projects of their choice. Josh is the second artist to receive the Fellowship. Tiriki Onus was the inaugural recipient in 2015.
