Delivered across three sub-program areas – Early Years, Future Work and Collaboration, key features of the program include: supporting children across three learning environments – the family, the school and the community; a long-term approach with many complementary projects and activities from pre-birth to career; a child-by-child focus to change individuals’ educational attainment levels and a community-wide partnership approach to ensure a common focus on improving Benalla student outcomes.

    The First Step Program Limited
    The purpose of this funding is to enable First Step to undertake strategic steps to address some of the systematic barriers across the mental health sector for the purpose of benefiting people who use drugs and alcohol and people living with mental distress. First Step will expand their internal capacity by bringing on new roles to enhance their integrated care model and to implement strategic engagement work with government. First Step will also undertake an Impact Evaluation, which will provide vital information to influence government in an evidence-based service delivery model, responding to the recommendations outlined in the Royal Commission’s report on the Victorian Mental Health System.
