New CEO for Helen Macpherson Smith Trust

Debra Morgan, Chief Executive Officer

Debra is an accomplished leader and brings to the role 20 years’ executive experience in the philanthropic and for-purpose sectors leading, developing and managing philanthropic programs. Through Debra’s many career accomplishments, she has demonstrated a deep engagement in philanthropy and a passion and commitment in responding to community needs and balancing stakeholder relationships.

Catherine Walter AM, HMST Chair, said “Debra has a distinguished career in the philanthropic, for-purpose and commercial sectors serving communities around Australia and internationally. We welcome her leading the team, recognizing the passion, commitment and expertise she brings to the role”.

Debra was the inaugural Head of Foundation at Aesop, with responsibility for shaping and delivering Aesop‘s engagement strategy with its communities across more than 25 markets, and in particular supporting education and cultural initiatives aimed at growing literacy and inclusion.

Prior to that Debra spent eight years with The Myer Foundation, Sidney Myer Fund and Myer Family Company designing, delivering, evaluating and overseeing major grant programs of significant reach and value.
